Referred locally as Samstanling Gompa, the monastery is located in Sumur Village in the Nubra Valley of the Ladakh. The Monastery was founded almost 150 years ago. After exploring the monastery, head back to Leh. Enjoy the delicious food for lunch during the journey itself. You will reach Leh late in the evening. After breakfast, start your journey to Pangong Lake. The scenic lake is nestled around 135 km away from the city of Leh. Drive through the Chang La and reach Pangong Lake perched at a height of 17500 ft. above sea level. On the way to Pangong Lake, you will cross the Durbuk and Tangtse village.
Durbuk is a small village that lies between Chang La mountain pass and Tangste on the way to Pangong Tso Lake. Tangtse, on the other hand, is a village in Durbuk Block in Leh located 71 km towards east of Leh and 10 km from Durbuk.
